MWA Construction Notice -- sewer line maintenance at the Farmer's Market
The Macon Water Authority will be replacing an old, deteriorated sanitary sewer main, which shows signs of near collapse, at a site near the Georgia State Farmer’s Market. The work is scheduled to begin on Friday, Jan. 13, 2012 and continue for approximately 45 days. Working with the approval and cooperation of the Georgia State Farmer’s Market, the Authority will be restricting access to certain areas around the Farmer’s Market – those between the Market Buildings and Eisenhower Parkway – due to potential hazards for the public during construction. To ensure public safety, orange barrels and an orange safety fence will be installed along the construction site. However, all business within the State Farmer’s Market will remain open seven days a week as usual, and public access to the Farmer’s Market will not be restricted or limited in any way. For questions or concerns about the impact of this project on the State Farmer’s Market and its operations, contact Market Manager Happy Wyatt at 478-752-1093 (office) or 478-256-8882 (cell), or email him at Hwyatt@agr.state.ga.us.
